When Disappointment leads to devastation

I spend most of my days in a good place, happy, content, at peace, thankful for everything in my life. But I am human and I am effected by what is happening around me.

A few weeks ago I was floating in my pool and words just started popping into my head and my train of thought was how disappointment eventually leads to devastation. Sometimes the disappointment is huge and knocks us off our feet and if not addressed and dealt with we gradually we go through stages until ultimately we no longer care. The reverse is also true, sometimes it starts with small, subtle disappointments that also left untreated can escalate into a huge blow up.

We are in such a state of chaos right now, politics, race relations, illness, quarantine, compounding grief and anger. It is building and building and building.. and it will explode.. and there will be great fallout.. unless… we let go of our arrogance, we search our hearts and find that goodness that lies within, we learn to love ourselves unconditionally and forgive whatever it is that is eating at our own self worth, then we can love others. Then we can be open to dialogue and conversation, then we work towards healing…

Proverbs 4:23 Above all else, guard your heart for everything you do flows from it.
