There are video monitors at #cko that show pictures of members taking classes or posing with their 100 class shirts as well as a promo video filmed a few years back. Sometimes throughout class I will glance up and see myself staring back at me. That me with her fierce determination and wicked smile was at my leanest and meanest weight/condition since my twenties – bursting with a high energy level and feeling strong. She is a constant reminder of why I am currently counting down the days to summer. She is only showing me the physical person I am capable of being. She and I are one in the same in all other aspects.

So this is me psychically now (and a bit sleep deprived) …
A little over two weeks in and overall I’m definitely hovering around the 80/20 percentage breakdown of healthy versus empty food choices. I weighed myself this week and was down .1 which I was surprised, I really expected it would have been up slightly. I joined this challenge to be more active again and to work on toning and trimming. I’m back at 4 kickboxing classes a week which is right where I need to be. With longer daylight hours, more hiking opportunities will be present. Sleep is pretty consistent, but I can be more cognizant of late evening activities that sometimes impact my ability to get proper rest. Bottom line, the weight will come off if I do treat my body right and find the right balance of exercise, sleep and nutrition.
On Monday I was concerned about the fact that I was so crazy tired and I should not have been! This sluggish feeling was 100% due to the protein to sugar balance Sunday.. which tipped the scales in the wrong direction rather sharply. I had a foggy brain, and I kept telling myself I must move.. first it was do some yoga before work, then it was take a walk on your lunch break.
I had a fantastic breakfast to begin the battle back against this fatigue, a spinach, sweet potato omelet with a balsamic drizzle, and there was a slight shift, but I was still fighting myself. So I sat at my keyboard, gathering my thoughts, building momentum. Then it hit me, Act of Random Kindness. I can never say no to that. So I grabbed a card from my stash.. hand wrote a note inside and off I went to the post office on foot.. I added a few extra blocks to get in a solid 2 miles as the blue skies disappeared and the ominous clouds formed.
People often talk about motivation. How do you stay motivated? The truth is motivation comes and goes. We must live a healthy lifestyle for ourselves otherwise we won’t commit, but I have found sometimes when I dig deep and the “me” doesn’t get my butt moving, thoughts of someone I love can light that fire.. It’s a tool in the arsenal we must all supply ourselves with in order to be in the game for the long haul.
Wonderful as always love the way you write/type 🙂 have a great week
